The BIG Transport Fringe

Client: BIG Transport Fringe

Services: Events, party conferences

Year: 2024

The Work

Inflect worked with the Manchester Airport Group and the Rail Safety and Standards board to deliver The BIG Transport Fringe, bringing together political, business, and sector leaders to ask the BIG questions on Britain’s future infrastructure.

Now a party conference staple, each year the BIG Transport Fringe provides a platform for dynamic debate on how to unlock investment in major transport infrastructure, improve connectivity across the UK, and deliver growth through transport.

Coming just months after the 2024 General Election and against a backdrop of cancelled rail projects, strained networks, and an urgent need for green investment, 2024’s event focused on the bold new plans of the incoming Labour Government, including its commitment to nationalising rail, devolving power over buses, and delivering long-term transport strategies that meet the needs of passengers and business alike.

The 2024 events drew a packed room and a high-profile panel of decision-makers and policy-shapers, including:
–Ruth Cadbury MP, Chair of the Transport Select Committee
Lord Moylan, Shadow Transport Spokesperson
– Vernon Everitt, Transport Commissioner for Greater Manchester
– Cllr Bev Craig, Leader of Manchester City Council
– Andy Brown, Corporate Affairs Director, MAG
– Johnny Schute, Chief Operations Officer, RSSB
– Cllr Adam Hug, Chair, LGA Local Infrastructure and Net Zero Board
– Cllr Linda Taylor, Leader of Cornwall Council and Vice Chair of the LGA Local Infrastructure and Net Zero Board
